Has WWE Released 6-Time Women’s Champion Sasha Banks?
On May 16, during an episode of Monday Night Raw, Sasha Banks and Naomi refused to participate in a match due to creative differences, leading to their notorious walkout. Sasha Banks has never been seen since at any wrestling promotion, let alone wrestle a match. However, the duo was spotted outside the wrestling world attending fashion events. With each passing day since their walkout, fans are eager to know, is she coming back? And if she is, Will it be WWE or AEW?
Following her walkout, WWE removed Sasha and Naomi from their intro Then, Now, Forever, and Together but, they are still on WWE’s roster page on wwe.com.
After Vince McMahon’s shocking retirement, fans expected Triple H’s regime to bring back Sasha Banks sooner, however, there is no saying whether The Boss will make her return to WWE or debut in another promotion.
Could Sasha Banks be released from the WWE in 2023?
According to PWinsider, Banks is reportedly expected to make an appearance at New Japan Pro Wrestling’s PPV event, Wrestle Kingdom 17 which is to be held on January 4, 2023.
WrestleCade tried booking the former WWE woman’s Champion despite her high asking price for their thanksgiving weekend convention but the promoters learned that she will only be available for booking after January 1st next year.
This update has sparked rumors of a possibility of a no compete clause in effect.

According to Fightful Select, there is a higher chance for The Boss to join AEW and fill up the mystery competitor spot by teaming up with Saraya to take on Britt Baker and Jamie Hayter on AEW Dynamite which is to be held on January 11, 2023, in Los Angeles.
It is important to note that NJPW has strong ties with AEW, so if Sasha decides to make an appearance at Wrestle Kingdom, she could join AEW. It is all speculation at this point as NJPW has not confirmed her rumored appearance.
Sasha Banks teased a match against a former WWE superstar in October
Former WWE superstar Kairi Sane departed from WWE in 2021. After the owner Stardom, Bushiroad crowned her as their inaugural IWGP Women’s Champion last month, Sane has been on a roll.
Kairi is set to defend her IWGP title against Tam Nakano at the Wrestle Kingdom PPV. Earlier in October, while being in suspension, Sasha Banks teased a match against her formal rival Kairi Sane on her Instagram story.
