“To be the man, you gotta beat the man” is a catchphrase made famous by WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair. Through his active years in wrestling, Flair personified his slogan by rubbing elbows with the most incredible talents in the industry. The wrestling veteran is one of the most famous and admired wrestlers from the late 80s through the 90s and all the way to this day. However, in 2019, Flair’s relationship with the company began deteriorating after he filed a lawsuit against WWE for giving away his trademark nickname “The Man” to female talent Becky Lynch.
While Flair held nothing against Lynch, the fact that WWE gave her his moniker did not sit well with him. This led to a dispute between Ric Flair and Triple H. WWE even omitted Ric Flair from their intro- Then, Now, Forever, in retaliation to Flair’s dispute with the company.
Fast forward to the present day, the water is under the bridge as both parties are again on good terms. However, WWE’s top star still wants no part of the Hall of Famer.
Ric Flair addresses his real-life heat with Seth Rollins
Speaking on the Busted Open podcast, Flair revealed how Seth Rollins still holds a grudge against the Dirtiest Player in the Game. According to Flair, Seth Rollins walked by Flair ignoring him during an autograph signing session.
While Flair pointed out that Rollins is an excellent worker and praised him for his hard work in the company, he wasn’t very pleased when he was ignored by the former WWE Universal Champion.

“He’s (Seth Rollins) mad at me because I’ve been up and down with his wife, but I don’t care. He’s good, but he ain’t me. I got no problem saying that. He walked right by at an autograph session, and I thought, ‘You gotta be kidding me, because of you and Becky and this ‘Man’ trademark, you’re gonna ignore me, pal? Wow.'”

Flair further added that WWE’s best matches in 2022, in his opinion, were the two matches featuring Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes earlier this year.
While Flair understands why Rollins is upset with him, he also needs Rollins to understand that he had his reasons. It is also worth noting that Flair and WWE, specifically Triple H, have buried the hatchet and now are on good terms.
Ric Flair reveals that his daughter Charlotte Flair was upset with him
In 2018, WWE rebranded Becky Lynch with the moniker, “The Man”. Lynch was booked to go head-to-head with Ric Flair’s daughter Charlotte Flair at the PPV event of SummerSlam.
After learning that WWE handed over the nickname to Becky Lynch which Flair claims to be his, the sixteen-time World Champion decided to take it legally to make some money off it.
In a conversation with TMZ Sports, Ric Flair revealed that Charlotte Flair was upset with Ric for making a stink over the nickname.

“It’s funny, my daughter (Charlotte) is so mad at me because I filed, not even understanding that it’s not with Becky. I have no beef with Becky,” said Flair.
“It’s crazy. When I first met Becky (Lynch), I treated her like my own daughter.
She knows it, I know it. She and Ashley (Charlotte Flair) were best friends.”

Flair also stated that Becky could continue to use the nickname regardless of his win or loss in the court of law. According to him, his only contention was that the nickname was not handed to his daughter as they deserved it before anybody else.
