Experienced left-handed batsmen Yuvraj Singh and Shikhar Dhawan have been named in a 15-man India squad for the upcoming three-match series.

India take on Bangladesh in their second warm up game today, and they have been handed a big boost as Yuvraj Singh has been deemed fit to take the field today. Yuvraj was suffering from illness when he arrived in England, but is now back to normal and is rearing to go out there and get some time in the middle.

BCCI confirmed the same with a tweet!

The first warm up game went according to plan for India, as the Indian bowlers bundled out the Kiwi batsmen for a meagre 189 runs. In reply, India lost Ajinkya Rahane early, but Dhawan and Kohli steadied the ship and ensured smooth sailing, until the rain came down, and gifted India the game through D/L.

The big positives to take from the previous game were that the Indian bowlers bowled beautiful lines, and that Virat Kohli struck some form again.

While it is not very clear as to what the Indian middle order would look like, Yuvraj’s performance today could go a long way in deciding as to how the Indian team would shape up for their first game against Pakistan.

Yuvraj had missed the first game due to viral fever and had previously also injured his finger, while playing for the Sunrisers in the IPL.

Yuvraj wasn’t really in great nick in the IPL, and thus today’s warm up game would be a huge test for him, as he would want to cement his place in the side. Yuvraj performed extremely well in the ODI series against England, scoring a match winning 150, but ever since then he hasn’t really set the cricket field on fire. Hopefully he gets in today and goes big!
