Australia Squad for 2nd 2019 Ashes Test vs England at Lord’s
Australia Squad for 2nd 2019 Ashes Test: Australia have announced a 12-member squad ahead of the second 2019 Ashes Test.
Australian cricket team has announced a 12-member squad on the eve of the second 2019 Ashes Test to be played against England at Lord’s. Coming on the back of a convincing victory in the first Test at Edgbaston, Australia have made a solitary change to their squad at this point in time.
Fast bowler James Pattinson, who played a Test for Australia after three and a half years, has not been included in the 12-member squad. In the 35 overs that Pattinson bowled across two innings, he picked up a couple of wickets without possessing much danger on the opposition lineup.
Australia have recalled tried and tested names in Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood into the 12-member squad. Australia’s final XI will be decided at the toss tomorrow.

While co vice-captain Pat Cummins looks set to play tomorrow, one out of Peter Siddle, Starc or Hazlewood will be benched. In the 39 overs that Siddle bowled in the first Test, he also dismissed only a couple of batsmen in the first innings.
While even Siddle might face the axe, it would result in Australia making a couple of big changes from their winning team for the second Test. In what sounds like an uncalled for decision, it will be intriguing to know their final XI.
As far as England have concerned, they have included all-rounder Sam Curran and uncapped fast bowler Jofra Archer in place of the injured fast bowling duo of James Anderson and Ollie Stone. All-rounder Moeen Ali has also made way for left-arm spinner Jack Leach.
