WATCH: Wes Agar survives massive injury scare after faulty landing in Marsh Cup
Wes Agar survives massive injury scare: The South Australian bowler remained fortunate for not getting injured today.
During the fourth match of the ongoing Marsh Cup between Queensland and South Australia in Brisbane, South Australia fast bowler Wes Agar survived a massive injury scare after his landing saw him sliding down on the wrong foot.
It all happened on the second delivery of Queensland’s innings when Agar’s back foot slipped while he was about to bowl a delivery. As a result, the 22-year old cricketer went sliding down in what seemed to be a horrifying incident.
Fortunately for Agar, he quickly got up and showed no signs of getting injured. Resuming his bowling duties, Agar conceded 25 runs in his first spell comprising of three overs.
After Queensland captain Jimmy Peirson won the toss and put the visitors in to bat, South Australia got bundled out for 226 in 48.5 overs. Coming in to bat at No. 5 in the 25th over, Tom Cooper top-scored for South Australia with his 32nd List A half-century.
Before getting out in the 48th over, Cooper ended up scoring 62 (75) with the help of six fours. Other than Cooper, opening batsman Jake Weatherald (44) and pacer Joe Meenie (31) also contributed for South Australia. With bowling figures of 10-0-38-3, fast bowler Billy Stanlake was the pick of the bowlers for the hosts.
While Queensland are coming on the back of a victory in their first match against New South Wales, South Australia are paying their first match of the tournament.

In reply to a 227-run target, Queensland batsmen have crossed the 100-run mark at a brisk pace. With Marnus Lanuschagne and Matt Renshaw batting in the middle, the home should easily seal the chase unless they aim at emulating what Tasmania did against Victoria yesterday.
