MS Dhoni retirement news: The BCCI President has finally opened up on the legendary cricketer’s future as an international cricketer.

Former India captain and current wicket-keeper batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni is collecting retirement speculations at will every single day. With Dhoni not playing any competitive match post the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, the move has invited all sorts of rumours regarding his international future.

Dhoni had missed the West Indies tour due to his training for the parachute regiment of the Indian Army in Kashmir valley. While there was no official reason why Dhoni missed the home T20Is against South Africa, it was again reported that he was unavailable for the Bangladesh T20Is as well.

Most recently, Dhoni himself was vocal about his international comeback during an event. The 38-year old cricketer has urged the reporters to not ask him about his comeback till January.

In the recent past, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly had laid emphasis on talking to Dhoni before passing a comment on his international future. In a recent interview with PTI, Ganguly himself talked about the much-discussed topic.

“No, no, there is clarity [about MS Dhoni’s international future], but certain things cannot be said on public platform. There is absolute clarity on MS Dhoni and you’ll find out in time.

“There’s transparency between the board, MS [Dhoni] and the selectors. When you deal with such champions – MS Dhoni is an unbelievable athlete for India – certain things have to be kept within the closed doors. It’s very transparent and everybody knows where they stand,” Ganguly was quoted as saying by PTI.

As far as India’s international schedule in January is concerned, they are slated to host Sri Lanka for three T20Is and Australia for three ODIs before traveling to New Zealand for five T20Is and a couple of Test matches.

Dhoni, who leads Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League, had reportedly asked the franchise to release him post IPL 2020. On the same day, Super Kings took to their Twitter handle to respond to the reports.
