Watch: Tom Curran and Adil Rashid pull off win vs South Africa reminiscent of India’s 2007 T20 world cup final victory. The series is now tied at 1-1.

South Africa and England played yet another thriller. The match, like their first encounter, went to the very last ball and could have very well ended in either side’s favour. In the end, it was England that prevailed by the narrowest of margins.

South Africa required 15 runs off the last over to seal the match. Tom Curran was handed the responsibility of keeping the Protea quiet. Curran started with a slower one that fooled the batsman. However, an attempt to do so once again resulted in a six by Pretorius.

The next ball was sent for a boundary leaving South Africa with a very possible 5 off the last 3. The hosts found two more runs bringing them closer to their target. Curran then bowled a top notch yorker to dismiss the batsmen LBW.

South Africa needed 3 off the last bowl with Bjorn Fortuin, a person who has never batted in a T20I, on strike. Fortuin lapped the ball over his head in an attempt to find a boundary. Instead however, he found Adil Rashid.

The scenes involving Engalnd’s victory is very similar to the manner in which India won the inaugural T20 World Cup against Pakistan. Misbah-Ul-Haq attempted to lap the ball over the keepers hid. The ball would however, find its way in Sreesanth’s palms sending the entire country in a frenzy.

Earlier in the day, England raced to 204 of their allotted 20 overs. Jason Roy lead the way with yet another brutal display. Moeen Ali smashed 39 of 11 to bring the score as high as possible.

South Africa responded with yet another whirwind star. Quinton de Kock lead the way with a 17 ball 50 that eventually ended with 65 off 22 balls. However, barring Rassie van der Dussen and Pretorius, the rest of the batsmen found runs hard to come by and eventually paid the price for it.
