Stephen Curry disagrees with NFL's Black National Anthem idea; demands answers

Stephen Curry disagrees with NFL’s latest idea of a separate Black National Anthem and questioned how it would solve any problems in America.

The United States of America has been embroiled in a battle against racism ever since the George Floyd incident. NBA superstars have spoken up against racism and discrimination prevalent in the society. Now 3-time NBA champion Steph Curry has questioned the NFL’s latest idea. The latest announcement has attracted criticism from all parts of the country and now, Curry has spoken on the issue.

What is NFL’s Black National Anthem idea?

Recently, the NFL has come under a lot of criticism with regards to racism in the league. Roger Goodel had come under a lot of criticism for how he handled the anthem kneeling back in 2016. But now even Goodel has come out with an apology and has promised to support the players’ support.

The NFL is planning on pledging $250 million to the black community over the next few years. However, its latest move has again come under fire. The league also announced that they would play the Black National Anthem, “Lift Ev’ry Voice And Sing,” before all of its games during Week 1.

This has sparked off a controversy and Curry has also voiced his displeasure over this.

Curry asked on Instagram recently: “can someone please explain to me how this solves anything?” A Black Anthem seems to a negative move from the NFL and seems to deviate the fight from its root cause.

Now, it remains to be seen whether the NFL will continue with their latest idea or will succumb to public outrage and displeasure.
