Indianapolis Colts: WR Parris Campbell involved in minor car crash, placed in concussion protocol
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Parris Campbell missed training camp on Wednesday after he was involved in a minor car accident.
A scary situation for the Indianapolis Colts just 2 weeks before the season opener. According to Stephen Holder of The Athletic, the team reported that Campbell missed practice after being placed in the concussion protocol.
Thankfully, Campbell is expected to be OK. Of course, with the concussion rules it is still unclear how soon he can return but the Colts will definitely hope to get their second choice WR back as soon as possible.

A Rocky Start in the NFL
The Colts selected Campbell in the second round of the 2019 draft after he ran a 4.31 40 yard dash at the combine. The Akron native also impressed in his time at Ohio State, hauling in 143 passes for 1768 yards.
However, his first year in the pros didn’t go quite as planned. The fact that Campbell managed to appear in 7 games in his rookie season seems like a miracle in hindsight.
He dealt with a plethora of injuries including a broken foot, a broken hand, and a mid-season sports hernia. For his 4 injuries in 2019, he required surgery 3 times and was placed on the IR in December, ending his season.

A Breakout Season in 2020?
Campbell ought to be frustrated with the way his career has gone so far and will for sure play with an edge this year. According to coaching staff in Indianapolis, he has been impressive at training camp.
“He looks strong, fast, explosive, good hands, understands the offense, consistent,” said head coach Frank Reich. “I mean, it’s early, but that’s what we are looking for from him. Now we just need that to continue to build.”
The former Buckeye also earned praise from QB Philip Rivers who made the move to Indianapolis this year after 16 season with the Chargers. When asked about Campbell, Rivers went so far as to say “the sky is the limit for him”.
