‘LeBron James and Steph Curry were born in the same hospital’: Lakers and Warriors stars part of insane coincidence

By now, nearly every NBA fan – even the casuals – know that LeBron James was born in Akron, Ohio. The King never fails to mention this in his hashtags on social media. James was born to Gloria James and a father who didn’t hang around in his life on 30th December 1984. Gloria was just 16 at the time.
On the other hand, Stephen Curry was born to affluent parents – an NBA player and his college sweetheart. He shares the same real name as his dad – Wardell Stephen Curry – except his dad goes by Dell and he goes by Steph.
The bizarre fact that connects Stephen Curry and LeBron James
Despite the chasm in affluence between the two, both Curry and James were born in the same hospital in Akron – Akron General Medical Center. Dell lived in the town during his Cavaliers days – he played for the Cleveland franchise as a sophomore in the league.
Born in March 1988, Steph is around 40 months junior to LeBron James, while he debuted in the NBA 6 years later. Curry won his first MVP trophy in his 6th season in the league, following it up with a second the following year – the same as LeBron James.

LeBron and Steph have had a great relationship over the years. James actually went to a couple of college games played by Steph at Davidson as he was setting NCAA records as a sophomore and junior. Both have always had high praise for each other and brought another major rivalry to the center of the NBA.
While James boasts a 4-6 record in the Finals to go with his 4 MVP trophies and 4 Finals MVPs, Curry made 5 straight Finals, and has a 3-2 record. The Warriors superstar is unanimously considered the greatest shooter in basketball history.
