Mark Cuban praises Luka Doncic by listing out similarities between him and Lakers legend Magic Johnson.

Though he is about to enter just the 3^rd year of his NBA career, Luka Doncic has been picked to be the favourite to snag the 2021 NBA MVP honors.

Luka Doncic was picked 3^rd overall in the 2018 draft and was set to go to the Atlanta Hawks. The Hawks however, traded down the draft to #5 and took Trae Young instead. This sent Doncic to Dallas.

Luka won the 2019 ROTY and took a massive leap in merely his second year as he averaged 28.8 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 8.1 assists per game.

Along with having one of the most historic regular seasons by any 2^nd year player, he led the Dallas Mavericks into the 2020 NBA Playoffs.

With making a guest appearance on Russell Wilson’s Danger Show, Mark Cuban raved about how good Luka Doncic is.

Cuban said, “He can pass the ball, see from the top, get to where he wants. Clutch player in crunch time. He’ll take responsibility against anybody. Great teammate. Magic will light things up with a smile. Luka’s the same way. He’s got that charisma that Magic has.”

Being compared to the greatest point guard of all time is the highest of praises. Luka definitely has the ‘clutch gene’ as it was made apparent by his stepback 3 game-winner against the Clippers in the first round.

Is Luka Doncic the second coming of Magic Johnson?

Perhaps the player closest to Magic Johnson, would be LeBron James. Both are 6’8, 6’9 guards who can dish absolute dimes. Luka is cut from the cloth as those 2.

Luka has validated everything Mark Cuban said about him, as he has proven he can score at a high rate, while also get teammates involved in the most creative ways.
