Sasha Banks reveals how she was cast on The Mandalorian and offered to be a part of the second season of the successful show on Disney plus.

Mercedes Varnado, also known as Sasha Banks, has taken the world by storm this year. Just last year it seemed that she was dissatisfied with her role in the WWE and was contemplating leaving it. Today she is the face of the Women’s division in the WWE.

She is also enjoying success outside the squared circle. Banks was recently a part of and credited as ‘Mercedes Varnado’ in the hit Disney show ‘The Mandalorian’.

The SmackDown women’s champion revealed in a recent interview, that she was offered the part by Disney through her Instagram DMs.

‘One day, for some reason, I was going through my Instagram DMs, which I normally don’t go through, and a casting director messaged me and said, “Jon Favreau really wants to interview you for something for Disney”,’ she told The Hollywood Reporter. “I got a FaceTime from him and he told me about The Mandalorian. I just couldn’t even believe it. At the click of my fingers, we were shooting on set and now it’s here. It’s so awesome.’

Banks appeared in episode Chapter 11: The Heiress as Koska Reeves – a Mandalorian and member of Bo-Katan’s Nite Owls. She notably saved Baby Yoda in the episode.

‘It was so incredibly cool when I found out that I was going to save him,’ she said of her part in the show. ‘I just wanted to cry and scream… At the same time, it was so, so hard because that pram is really heavy and with my beskar on as well, it was hard.
