“Warriors are back to their passing best”: Steph Curry, Draymond Green and co set season record in assists as Golden State beat Kings last night
The Warriors capped off an epic blowout win on the second night of a back-to-back set with their highest number of team assists this century.
Following a 137 point night shepherded largely by Steph, the Warriors came together on offense as a team last night. They opened up a big lead right in the first quarter, which only swelled as the game went on. By the end of the night, it was a 31-point dismantling of the Kings.
Steph followed up his 62 point night with a near triple-double. He had himself 30 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists as the Warriors cantered to a blowout win. Steph wasn’t the only hot Warriors player either, as Oubre had himself his first good shooting night. The former Wizards wing made 4 of his 6 3-point attempts.
Such was the buzz generated by the Warriors’ ball movement that the Kings had no answer even to their garbage time lineup. The Warriors never totaled 41 assists as a team even during their peak 2015-16 season.
Who were the main contributors for Warriors last night?
Besides Steph, Andrew Wiggins had himself an efficient shooting night with 7 buckets on 15 attempts. Wiggins was also backed by Kelly Oubre, who had 18 points on 6 of 13 shooting and made 4 3-pointers.

Draymond was his usual quarterbacking self on both offense as well as defense. As always, the stats do not do justice to his game as he went for 5 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals but had a +/- of +13. He had just 1 point against the Blazers as well, but had a game-high +/- 2 nights ago as well.
The Warriors will next face the Clippers, who stand atop the Western Conference standings currently. It’s going to be a litmus test of how much they’ve recovered from games against contenders like the Bucks and Nets. They will need Steph to be firing on all cylinders as he did in these last 2 games.
