WWE Overtakes George W. Bush as most edited Article in Wikipedia. The Online Encyclopaedia celebrates 20 years of existence today.
Wikipedia was launched on January 15th 2001. The online encyclopaedia celebrates its 20th birthday today. For all of its inaccuracies, the website has been very successful, with The Economist magazine placed it as the “13th-most-visited place on the web”.

The website allows a community of volunteer editors to maintain their website. They continuously edit their articles in order to keep it up to date. Of all the topics they home on their site, the WWE is surprisingly their most edited article!

According to BBC former United States president, George W. Bush, who took office 5 days after the launch of the website used to be the most edited article on their site. That accolade however, now belongs to the list of WWE personnel now. The article dealing with their roster has had more than 53,000 edits over the years!
This goes to show the eagerness of fans of WWE, who want the site to reflect accurate information about the show. It also helps that the WWE constantly draft their wrestlers in different brands while bringing in new names all the time.
The honor makes much more sense when you take into account the fact that their personnel is constantly changing. The various firings, hiring and transferring of talent along with the commentators, referees and other backstage staff go a long way in bringing the number of edits it has.
The WWE is currently gearing up for Royal Rumble, one of their annual big 4 pay per view. The January 31st event will set up the road for Wrestlemania 37. Four matches have been announced for the event so far. The obligatory men and women’s Royal Rumble match and the defense of both the World titles.
