“I think it’s a stupid idea”: De’Aaron Fox criticizes Adam Silver and NBA governors for idea of All Star game in the midst of Covid-19 pandemic

After his clutch performance against the Celtics last night, De’Aaron Fox got to talking about the All Star game. The first-time prospect is vehemently against it.

The Sacramento Kings are currently treading water mainly because of the efforts of the 4th year guard. Fox is now the fastest player in the NBA, and he’s using that threat to great effect. His jumper is now better than ever, and it has also opened up his ability to be an elite playmaker.

After a precipitous fall in his 3-point percentages in 2019-20, Fox has now gotten it back up to an acceptable 35.2% this season. His overall field goal percentage of 47.3% is practically the same as last year.

The Kings are 10-11 this season, and there is much lower competition at the guard spot this year. Chris Paul is playing alongside another All Star in Booker, while Westbrook and Harden are both in the East now. This makes it Fox’s chance to debut in the major event of the festivities.

De’Aaron Fox thinks the All-Star Game is a bad idea

After a clutch performance against the Cs, in which he scored 14 of his 26 points in the 4th quarter, there have been calls for Fox to be named an All-Star. Regardless of the possibility of featuring in his dream game for the first time in his career, Fox kept it real:

“I’m going to be brutally honest, I think it’s stupid. If we have to wear masks and do all this for a regular game, what’s the point of bringing the All-Star Game back?”
