“Goosebump moment for me”- Mick Schumacher points out the best moment of his father’s career according to him was with Ferrari.

Mick Schumacher is going to be the second generation Formula 1 driver from his family’s lineage. Still, it is a big shoe to fit in, as his father- Michael Schumacher is regarded as arguably the greatest F1 driver of all time.

While his father had several iconic moments in his career, Mick Schumacher feels that one of the moments among them always stands out and that is his World Championship win in 2000, which included an intense battle against Mika Hakkinen.

“If you look back on all the races, my father’s first world championship title with Ferrari is definitely a goosebump moment for me when I look at it,” he said to the SkySport.

Schumacher’s first title will with Ferrari was in 2000, and it was a start to something extraordinary, as Ferrari went onto win five successive world titles.

On the other hand, it was a great spectacle to watch an intense fight between Hakkinen and Schumacher, which the latter eventually won to mark the start of his era of dominance.

My first visit to the paddock

After talking about his father, Mick revealed the details about his first-ever visit to an F1 circuit, and it was 2010 when F1 drivers were vying at the Hungarian Grand Prix.

“I was there in Budapest in 2010, it was the first time, and I was close and also in the meetings. I was there in 2017 or 2018 in Hockenheim, which of course was very exciting for me.”

Now the junior Schumacher would be touring a list of 23 circuits this year, as he is a part of the 2021 grid contingent. 11 years ago; he might have witnessed Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel, Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen for the first time in the flesh.

But now, he would be competing against them. The journey F1 has travelled all these years is immense.
