Warriors’ superstar Stephen Curry gives out advice to rookie James Wiseman, tells him to stay away from all the hype around others.

Stephen Curry, apart from leading the Warriors, has been adjusting into a new role in the past year or so. Stephen Curry is the oldest guy on the Warriors’ roster now and has the most experience playing in the league.

Earlier, the Dubs had the likes of Andre Iguodala and Shaun Livingston as the veterans on the team, but that hasn’t been the case since the 2019-20 season started.

Curry has himself said on multiple occasions that it makes him feel older, knowing he is the oldest guy on the team. However, mentoring the young players is almost as important as the things the players do on the court.

The Warriors have a lot of young players with potential in their squad right now and with Curry and Draymond mentoring them, they can blossom into incredible players.

A lot of the time, when a player is drafted at the top of the class, their rookie year has an added pressure on them to excel. It does not help that the #2 pick James Wiseman is compared to Anthony Edwards and LaMelo Ball often. Those two rookies have been performing really well with their franchise, and hence it might be easy for Wiseman to get disheartened.

Stephen Curry understands the same, and hence tells the young rookie to not pay much heed to the hype around the other two. They are in their own situations with their teams, and they differ team-to-team.

Steph and the Warriors love having Wiseman around, and that should serve as a boost for him. With the potential he has displayed in his first 25 games for the Dubs, he has shown a ray of hope. Wiseman has recorded 11.8 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks per game.

If any team knows how a player should not be judged from their rookie year, it’s the Warriors. Their big three, Curry, Thompson, and Green, all three evolved into the players they are today after years of work.
