ESPN analyst Richard Jefferson isn’t too impressed about JJ Redick’s complaints about David Griffin and the Pelicans’ front office. 

JJ Redick is one of the greatest shooters of all time. Even at 36, he is one of the best shooters in the NBA. That being said though, he has been in a bit of a slump recently. But, it seems that hasn’t affected his value much, with the Dallas Mavericks snapping him up before the trade deadline.

The Mavericks are a very good team. But it is not the franchise that JJ Redick wanted to be traded to. The star spoke out on his podcast, that he wanted to go to the Brooklyn Nets. He emphasized that the reason for that was his family stays in Brooklyn, so he would be close to them.

He further said that he had spoken to David Griffin, GM of the New Orleans Pelicans. The player was told that he’d be traded to the team of his choice. But instead, he was traded an eternity away from his family.

While countless fans feel sympathy for the star though, ESPN’s Richard Jefferson disagrees completely.

Speaking with Rachel Nichols and Robert Horry on ESPN’s ‘The Jump’, Richard Jefferson was very candid on the subject. Here is what he said as a reply to JJ Redick’s complaints.

“Let me say this, I like JJ…Really? You thought they were going to send you to the Nets like everybody else?”

He continued on the matter.

“JJ you know this. No one cares. I respect you, (but) no one cares about your feelings. They don’t care about any of our feelings.”

It’s a harsh opinion for sure, but at the end of the day, it isn’t false. The NBA community will pay heed to his opinions for a little bit of time, before forgetting about it completely. Still, we believe that Richard Jefferson’s comments were still a tad bit too harsh on the topic.

But who knows? The way the Brooklyn Nets have acquired players this season, JJ Redick may just get his wish sometime in the future.
