RCB vs KKR 2021 Man of the Match: Who was awarded the Man of the Match in IPL 2021 Match 11?
RCB vs KKR 2021 Man of the Match: The wicket-keeper batsman from Royal Challengers Bangalore won the Match award in Chennai today.
During the 10th match of the ongoing 14th season of the Indian Premier League between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders in Chennai, Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 38 runs to register their third consecutive victory this season.
Chasing a mammoth 205-run target, Knight Riders managed to score 166/8 in 20 overs despite a brisk start in the powerplay. All-rounder Andre Russell scoring 31 (20) with the help of three fours and two sixes in the business end of the inning did give some hopes to the KKR fans but it required a monumental effort to secure victory today.
Although expensive, Royal Challengers all-rounder Kyle Jamieson was the pick of their bowlers with bowling figures of 3-0-41-3. Apart from Jamieson, the likes of Harshal Patel and Yuzvendra Chahal picked a couple of wickets each at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.

After Royal Challengers captain Virat Kohli won the toss and chose to bat, his team posted a dominating 204/4 in 20 overs on the back of individual half-centuries from Glenn Maxwell (78) and AB de Villiers (76*).
Having shown first signs of aggression by scoring consecutive boundaries off Kolkata Knight Riders spinner Varun Chakravarthy in the 15th over, de Villiers followed a similar pattern against Prasidh Krishna in the next over.

With Kolkata captain Eoin Morgan introducing all-rounder Andre Russell into the attack in the 18th over as he has been doing in this season, the move didn’t augur well as de Villiers smashed five fours and three sixes as Russell leaked 38 runs in just two overs.
“I did play well and had a lot of fun. Maxi [Glenn Maxwell] made it easier and it’s difficult coming into a game on a pitch that has been slower. It was a bit of both. It wasn’t a 200-wicket; maybe 170 was about par today. The most important thing is I’m enjoying myself and my cricket – my family is here,” de Villiers told Star Sports after winning the ‘Man of the Match’ award during the post-match presentation ceremony.
