“I got vaccinated for my personal reasons”: Anthony Davis subtly throws shade at LeBron James and Dennis Schroder after leading Lakers to win
Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis opens up about his and the team’s vaccination status after the win over the Denver Nuggets
The Los Angeles Lakers found a way to break the rut they were stuck in. It came in the most surprising of ways. LeBron James and Dennis Schroder were both ruled out for the game. Andre Drummond fell into foul trouble.
Anthony Davis scored a team-high 25 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Marc Gasol scored 10 points and grabbed 7 rebounds from the bench. Three other Lakers showed up with double digits scoring performances in the team effort to be the Nuggets 93-89.
With this win, the Lakers propelled themselves out of the danger of the play-in game, at least for now. They now sit on the 5th spot but are only .015 game ahead of the Blazers, who are on the 7th spot.
“I’m trying to play my part and get 20,000 back in Staples”: Anthony Davis
After the game, Anthony Davis had an AMA (ask me anything) session. There Davis was asked about his personal vaccination status.
Davis replied and let people know that he got vaccinated.
Anthony Davis said that he choose to get vaccinated. He said it was “highly encouraged” by the NBA, but it is not mandatory.
He added: “I’m just trying to play my part to get 20,000 back at Staples so we can get more cheers than we have now.”

Although Davis did mention that it wasn’t made mandatory by the NBA. However, he did seem to throw some shade at his teammates LeBron James and Dennis Schroder.

While Adam Silver mentions around 70% of the league players have at least got one shot of the vaccine, there are still a lot of big-name players who haven’t gotten their doses. The NBA players serve as idols to many. Players like LeBron James not getting their vaccines sends out wrong messages to the masses.
