“LeBron James should blame his teammates”: Kendrick Perkins slams Lakers star for criticizing the 2021 NBA play-in tournament
Kendrick Perkins called LeBron James out for being hypocritical and criticizing the play-in tournament on Sunday night.
The past 2 months have been testing times for Lakers fans. Anthony Davis and LeBron James missed months with foot injuries sustained in live action. LeBron is still trying to ease his way back, while AD posted his first good performance only last night.
There’s a ton of smoothing over yet to take place with regards to the Lakers’ rotations. This has been rendered all the more complicated by the Covid-enforced absence of Dennis Schroder.
It seemed to be a matter of getting rotations right for Frank Vogel last night. Marc Gasol seems to have sealed some extended playing time with an all-round performance against Jokic. The Serbian big man flourished while guarded by Andre Drummond, but had to work a ton harder against Big Spain.
Lakers fans and players continued to take Ls on social media and sports talk shows till their win last night. Stephen A Smith, Max Kellerman and Kendrick Perkins had all expressed their concern with the Lakers’ supporting cast.
Kendrick Perkins piles on LeBron James for his criticism of the NBA play-in tournament
LeBron had left the court midway through the Lakers’ 121-114 loss to Toronto because his ankle problem had reared its ugly head once again. James seemed to be in an irritable mood in the post-game presser:
“Well, it doesn’t matter, at the end of the day, if I’m not 100%, close to 100%, it don’t matter where we land. That’s my mindset. If we end up at six or fifth or whatever the case may be, or we end up in the playoff, whatever that thing is. Whoever came up with that s**t need to be fired.”
“Who LeBron SHOULD be pissed off at … is his teammates! Before he got injured they were a top-two seed in the Western Conference!”@KendrickPerkins thinks LeBron needs to redirect his anger about a potential play-in game 😳 pic.twitter.com/6hcYZTXIOZ

These comments weren’t well-received by Perk, who proceeded to lay the blame on his fellow Lakers:
“Who he (LeBron) should be mad at is his teammates. Because before he got injured, they were a top-2 seed, and they weren’t saying all of this.”
