“I’d kill Skip Bayless and Lance Luchnick on sight”: NBA legend Charles Barkley was duped of 4 years of his earnings by his first agent
Charles Barkley jokingly says he’d kill three people on sight. One of them is his former agent Lance Luchnick, who stole his money and bolted.
Chuck was ripped off tons of money by his first agent, which means that Luchnick wouldn’t dare cross his paths again. Barkley spoke out about his hate for Luchnick in a 2015 interview on the Dan Patrick show:
“Well back then, I think players are a lot more smarter now. Your agent got your paycheck, he gave you an allowance, and he ‘invested’ the rest of your money.”
“I was getting $15,000 a month allowance just to have fun with and I’m a 21-year old kid. You can’t give me [that money]. I think I was given $15,000 allowance.”
“That came at the first of every month and man I didn’t care. He said, ‘I’m investing the rest.’ I’m like, ‘OK.’ And after four years, I was broke, hadn’t paid taxes. Like I said, I don’t want to mention his name — Lance Luchnick.”
Dan LeBatard reminds Charles Barkley how much Chuck hates Lance Luchnick
Barkley was on Dan LeBatard’s Free Dumb 24 hr podcast stream yesterday ahead of Clippers vs Mavericks Game 6. Chuck gave us undoubtedly one of the best unfiltered segments we’ve seen on the internet from a TV personality.
He started off with a pure trash talk vibe after downing a bit of tequila in response to LeBatard and friends, who were incidentally drinking Michael Jordan’s Cincoro tequila at the time on their end:
“It’s two people in the world that I’ll kill on sight. Your dad and Skip Bayless. They’re the only two people in the world that I’d kill on sight.”
Dan: No, that’s not true! You’re agent who stole all your money from you?
“Oh yeah. We can’t miss him. The guy who all stole my money from me? Oh, that’d be Lance Luchnick. Hey! Lance Luchnick stole all my money. I was in the worst-case scenario. I was black and broke after 4 years in the NBA because he stole all my damn money.”
“That’s like the worst-case scenario in America, being black and broke. I played in the NBA for 4 years, made – well, at that time, I was making hundreds of thousands of dollars, and in 4 years, I was broke.
