“I think I just needed a fresh start”: Mitchell Trubisky details his reasoning behind choosing Buffalo Bills
The Bears pulled the plug on the Mitchell Trubisky experiment this offseason. So after a rocky 4-year stint, Trubisky opted to sign with the Buffalo Bills. Trubisky opened up about his reason for choosing Buffalo.
Mitchell Trubisky decided to take his talents up north and signed a one-year deal with the Buffalo Bills on March 18. Trubisky had a disappointing start to his career. But the former Bear will hope to rejuvenate his career backing up Josh Allen.

Mitchell Trubisky said he needed a fresh start.
With eyes finally off the former 2nd overall pick, Trubisky will finally have the opportunity to prove his doubters wrong. The criticism he faced was often because he was the first QB taken in a draft class that had Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson.

“I think I just needed a fresh start,” Trubisky told the Buffalo News. “I just wanted to go somewhere where I was wanted and they had a role for me.
“I wanted to be a part of a championship-caliber team, so when this opportunity came knocking on the door, I thought it was a great fit, just with the offense and the people they’ve got in this building right now,” Trubisky said. “To be part of a team that can possibly go win a Super Bowl, I think that’s special. . . Coming here and backing up Josh is going to be a new role, but I’m ready to embrace that and be a part of this great team and help any way I can.”
In 2020, Trubisky and the Bears made the playoffs with an 8-8 record. But that was beside his performance rather than because of it. Trubisky only had a winning record once in his career. The Bears also went to the playoffs twice with him at the center but lost both games. In 50 career starts, he led Chicago to a 29-21 record but didn’t seem prepared to take the franchise to the next level.
27 QBs have thrown 650 passes since 2019.

“But for now, I’m just loving it day to day here in Buffalo and just helping this team as much as I possibly can.”
