“Pat Riley trying to recruit LeBron James is what Pat Riley does”: Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh talk about the Miami Heat executive being fined $25,000 for tampering
Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh discuss what Pat Riley meant when he talked about a possible LeBron James to the Miami Heat move.
LeBron James and the Miami Heat share a ton of history with one another; both as friends and as foes. Most notably, the then 2x MVP left the team that drafted him (Cleveland Cavaliers) to join forces with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh on the Miami Heat in 2010 to win two of his first four rings down in South Beach.
Years later, he would meet the Heat in the 2020 NBA Finals in the ‘Bubble’ and would defeat them 4-2 to claim his 4th championship. So, it’s safe to say that Pat Riley has had a fair dose of LeBron James throughout this past decade. However, it may not have been enough as he recently took to the Dan Lebetard Show to say that he’d leave the door open for a possible LeBron-Heat reunion.
Pat Riley on being open to LeBron James returning to the Heat (via @LeBatardShow) (1/3): “I would leave the key under the doormat if he would call me and let me know that he’s coming. I would do that, but I doubt very much that key…That key is rusted now…”

The comments that he made led to him being fined to the tune of $25,000 as the NBA claims he had violated their anti-tampering rules.
Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh react to Pat Riley being fined for his comments on LeBron James.
Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, two players that both retired as members of the Miami Heat, sat down with Rachel Nichols and talked about what Pat Riley had to say about LeBron James perhaps finishing off his career with the Heat.
Part 2 of my conversation with @DwyaneWade and @ChrisBosh – we discuss the $25,000 Pat Riley was just fined for his comments about LeBron James (DWade: “Pat has $25,000 just stuffed in his dress socks”😂) Plus you know we had to bring back some of the videobombs: pic.twitter.com/pykrtfEjV5

While Bosh gave us insight on how competitive Riley really is and why losing in the first round perhaps prompt him to make a statement like this, D-Wade hilariously claimed $25,000 is nothing to the longtime Miami Heat executive.
Unfortunately for Pat Riley, LeBron James just signed a two-year extension with the Los Angeles Lakers worth $85 million that will keep him in TinselTown till the summer of 2023. With the way the Lakers season ended, it’s almost guaranteed that no.6 and no.3 will look to redeem themselves going into the 2021-22 NBA season.
