“Luka Doncic, Jayson Tatum, Devin Booker, you’re hating on Trae Young if he’s not on your list”: Draymond Green snubs Sixers star Ben Simmons from his list of NBA’s top young players
Draymond Green sat down with Taylor Rooks for an interview recently. He picked Luka Doncic and Trae Young among his top 5 young players.
The Warriors star has established himself as a studio stalwart over the past 2 playoffs for TNT already. Draymond is just the type of personality who seems to be TV-ready when called upon. He brings an astute understanding of the game and a no-BS, no-filter attitude.
We’ll be seeing more of Draymond in the studio for upcoming playoff games. He’s already provided us with a ton of moments during this playoff season, including his roast of Suns fans on Twitter.
One would think that Draymond is smarting and jealous of his competition at the moment. But Dray is a man who’s always got his feet firmly on the ground irrespective of the situation. And this is far from a calamitous situation for him even today to be missing the playoffs.
Draymond Green picks Luka Doncic, Jayson Tatum, Devin Booker & Trae Young, snubs Ben Simmons
One of Rooks’ best lines of questioning to Draymond on their recent podcast was a series about young players. Rooks ended the interaction by asking Draymond his picks for the NBA’s top 5 young talents today. Draymond was quite forthcoming with his answer.
“Luka, Jayson Tatum for sure. Devin Booker for sure. Then you got Zion. So Luka, Jayson Tatum, Zion, Book, and you’ve gotta be hating if you don’t put Trae Young in that category right now.”

Judging from the clip, you can tell that Draymond was indeed thinking about his picks. He also sensed a bit of Atlanta pride from Taylor, who’s been repping the city these playoffs after they got back to these stages.
Including Luka Doncic, Jayson Tatum and Zion Williamson on any young players’ list is really a no-brainer. These are players who have multiple All-Star game selections during their rookie contracts.
Devin Booker, meanwhile, has also put the league on notice with his performances thus far. His Game 6 explosion against the Lakers will definitely go down in history.
The battle for the last spot between Ja Morant, Ben Simmons and Trae Young is a tight one. We’re hoping that it’ll be a tight race for the rest of their careers as well.
