“The news (joining of McLaren) is the biggest in the short history of Extreme E. I want to welcome McLaren, I want to welcome Zak [Brown] – well he is already in the championship – but yeah, we will have some more surprises, maybe for season two.
“We will wait because this news is big enough to give us the momentum. Extreme E, this championship is growing all the time, to be so young and have, already, McLaren in the championship is amazing so hopefully, we will have some surprises soon.”
McLaren Racing CEO Brown has a team of his own in Extreme E – Andretti United. As the name suggests, it is a joint venture between his company United Autosports, and Andretti Autosport. Extreme E is also affiliated to the FIA, like Formula E.
