LeBron James was part of the greatest Finals comeback in 2016 when he came back from down 3-1 against the 73-9 Warriors earning his third ring.

Now that he’s in the offseason and has time to relax, James was going over a mixtape showing highlights from the epic comeback.

Of course, this Finals win has to go down as one of James’ best. He was down 3-1 to the greatest regular season of all time, and yet he still found a way to bring the Cavaliers their first championship ever.

So, undoubtedly, when he went back to watch the mixtape he was more than hyped. He remembers it so fondly and for good reason.

LeBron James Hyped After Watching His 3-1 Finals Comeback Mixtape

The 2016 Finals were special to LeBron for a multitude of reason. For one, it was a career defining moment. LeBron had said he was actively chasing Michael Jordan, and he needed this win to even reach the same level as the NBA GOAT.

Prior to these Finals, LeBron was 2-4 in the Finals. That’s relatively unimpressive compared to Jordan’s 6-0. He needed this win more than anything to even come close to Jordan.

Additionally, by winning, LeBron fulfilled his promise to the city of Cleveland. When he left the Cavs in 2010, the entire city felt betrayed. LeBron was “The Chosen One.” He was the person who was supposed to make Cleveland a city of champions once more.

However, he chose to bail on them. He joined a super team in Miami to complete his personal goal of winning a title. However, he owed one to the city that made him a superstar. The city that embraced him with all their hearts only to have it torn apart in one fateful Summer “Decision.”

Finally, by beating the 73-9 Warriors in a series the Cavs trailed 3-1, he solidified his legacy as one of the game’s greatest. His third championship at the time was still three behind MJ, but the fact that he overcame everything to reach this moment, brought him so much closer to Jordan than he ever could have.

In that series, he averaged 29.7 points per game, 11.3 rebounds per game, and 8.9 assists per game. In games 5-7, he averaged 36.3 points per game, 11.7 rebounds per game, and 9.7 rebounds per game. Have your fun King James. You’ve earned it.
