“Jayson Tatum to leave Boston Celtics?”: NBA Insider reveals how the Celtics’ offseason trade moves may impact the future of their best player
The Boston Celtics are going through a transformation with Brad Stevens as their GM. The former coach has taken up the role after Danny Ainge stepped down.
Stevens has taken charge and has already started making the moves. He has traded Kemba and a 16 overall pick to OKC Thunder. In exchange, the Celtics received Al Horford and Moses Brown with a second round pick.
However, the search for a new coach is still on as they look to move more pieces in the coming weeks. They will keep making moves until eh get the desired players on their roster. But this overhaul may cost them to lose their best player, Jayson Tatum.
The Celtics need to get the right players to support Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown
According to Jared Weiss of The Athletic, Tatum is not feeling right as he is losing his best mates in the locker room. It started with Javonte Green and it has followed till Kemba Walker.
With Horford and Moses joining the team as centers, Tristian Thompson can be the next player to be traded. He also happens to be one of Tatum’s best buddies. This can leave a major impact on the player impact his future with the franchise.
The Celtics’ dysfunction reached the point that Blake Griffin asked a friend on the roster if he should sign midseason & was warned to stay away, sources tell @TheAthleticNBA.

“The question now is how these moves will impact Boston’s franchise players. Jayson Tatum has already seen close friend Javonte Green move to Chicago at the deadline. And now loses another locker room friend in Walker. Horford’s arrival opens the door for the team to possibly move on from Tristan Thompson, another close teammate for Tatum,” Weiss wrote on his Celtics feature for The Athletic.
Tatum has been the most vital cog for the Celtics accompanied by Jaylen Brown. The duo will need more help to make this Celtics side competitive in the Eastern Conference. That can be a big reason for him to leave the franchise and join a more established team. That way he won’t have to see his friends getting traded.
The main priority of the organisation will be to keep Tatum happy by bringing in the right players. The correct reinforcements will allow them to compete with the best teams. They cannot be finishing sixth or seventh in the East and be satisfied.
