Sam Curran run-out: The English all-rounder drew early inroads into the Sri Lankan batting lineup at the Sophia Gardens.

During the second T20I of the ongoing Sri Lanka’s tour of England in Cardiff, England all-rounder Sam Curran put on display impact-generating football skills which led to the dismissal of Sri Lanka opening batsman Danushka Gunathilaka (3).

It all happened on the third delivery of the second over when Sri Lanka opening batsman Avishka Fernando (6) dabbed a Curran delivery to sneak a run. With a positive response from Gunathilaka from the non-striker’s end, the pair ran towards each other to complete the run.

However, it was at the same time that Curran also ran towards the ball to find Gunathilaka short of his crease at the striker’s end. Instead of wasting a second or two in picking the ball with his hand and throwing it to the stumps, Curran kicked the ball only to find Gunathilaka wanting.

In his second over, Curran sent back Fernando after he hit a delivery straight to Liam Livingstone at deep square leg further dent the opposition who had won the toss and chose t0 bat first.

Much like the first T20I at the sane venue yesterday, Sri Lanka once again find themselves in trouble especially losing as many five wickets in the 14th over.
