Chris Gayle and Keiron Pollard have a base price of Rs 2 crore
The IPL auction is always a very exciting event, as the unpredictability of the auction makes for compelling viewing.
While you cannot win the IPL in the auction, you can give yourself a huge chance by picking the right players and getting the right balance in your squad.
Back in 2011, KKR let go of all their current players and picked a very strong squad filled with accomplished cricketers. Pundits were quite impressed by KKR’s squad, as they felt that they had the right balance and would be a strong contender in the next couple of seasons. Two years later, KKR lifted their maiden IPL title.
Delhi Daredevils on the other hand have had poor windows in the past, which handicapped them when it came to the tournament itself.

This will not be lost on all eight franchises, as they will try to build a new squad from scratch. This year’s mega auction will be the biggest one held after 2008, as the best players in the world will be available for selection on January 27th and 28th.
Quite a few big names such as, Yuvraj Singh, Chris Gayle, Keiron Pollard, Dwayne Bravo, Brendon McCullum, Harbhajan Singh and Gautam Gambhir to name a few, will part of the auction pool.
These stars have a base price of Rs 2 crore, as they will be hoping to get picked for a much higher amount in the auction.
This is the first time Harbhajan will go into the auction since 2008, and he is very excited to give his best for whichever team he gets picked for in the auction.
This is what a source had to say,
“He played for MI for 10 years, which explains his immense value. He was their first captain to get them a title. He’s captaincy material, has gone for 6.95 runs per over, vastly experienced. He’s amongst the top wicket-takers in the IPL, and is a useful batsman down the order. ”
“This is the first time that he’ll be available in the auction. Having him in the side, one gets not just match-winning ability, but someone who takes the team along with him. He can mentor and develop the youngsters in the team,” the unnamed source said.
“I’ve had a great decade-long relationship with MI. I’ll look to bowl well and win games for whichever team I play for in the IPL. Let’s see what happens at the auction.”
