2017 NBA MVP Russell Westbrook talks about his new journey in the purple and gold uniform and how he has nothing left to prove.

Earlier this month, Mr triple-double signed a 1-year deal with the LA Lakers. Thus joining forces with LeBron James and Anthony Davis leading to the formation of a Big 3.

Brodie is one of the most athletic point guards to ever step on the NBA hardwood. The 9x All-Star has averaged a triple-double in the last 3 of his 4 seasons.

Westbrook created history recently when he broke Oscar Robertson’s record for most no of triple-doubles. Brodie had 184 triple-doubles to his credit.

There is no doubt that Westbrook gives all his blood and sweat in the game. Despite this, the 2x scoring champion has often been described as a solo act who doesn’t get along well with others.

Many believe that Westbrook is under immense pressure going into the 2021-22 season as a Laker. This seems like his best chance to win the chip that would complete his legacy.

Nobody can ever question the work ethic of Westbrook, a walking highlight reel. The 32-year old has been to the NBA Finals only once in his career but unfortunately lost to the Big 3 of the Miami Heat.

The former OKC superstar has achieved almost all the major individual accolades and is a future first-ballot Hall of Famer. However, the only thing missing from his decorated resume is a championship ring.

Nonetheless, these statements don’t seem to bother Westbrook, who seems to be content with his career giving 100% every night on the court.

When asked if he had anything left to prove, the 3x assists leader said, “Uh, no. When I got drafted in the NBA, that was me proving people wrong. Go to college, from the inner city, that was me proving people wrong. Just making it out the hood was proving people wrong.”

As he embarks on his new journey with the LA Lakers, Westbrook is confident of his new stint in the purple and gold uniform and doesn’t pay too much heed to his naysayers.
