Michael Jordan, Despite Hating Green Air Jordans for ‘Christmas’ Reasons, Permitted a New Pair of AJ1s in Same Colorway
Michael Jordan and the Boston Celtics hated each other. The Massachusetts natives handed Michael some of his most humiliating defeats. Even after scoring a career-high of 63 points, Jordan could not get the better of them. He got sent home playoff after playoff, and he hated playing against Larry Bird and his team.
Green and red may look nice during the Christmas season, but The Bulls and Celtics do not. A leprechaun and a raging bull are two extremes: one is hunting for gold at the end of a rainbow, and the other is seething because it cannot catch the red cloth.
Thus began a lifelong hatred of the color green, and until recently, Jordan never allowed the color to appear on his models, claiming ‘no one wants to wear Christmas shoes!’ It was not until 2006, when the Green Bean 5s came out, that Jordan Brand saw the potential of adding color to the sneaker.
Jordan voluntarily allowed the Oregon Ducks to wear the color green on their uniforms. That was in no part because of him; it was all Tinker Hatfield’s doing. But once the group saw how much hype the Wahlburger 4s generated, they knew they had struck green gold.
Jordan Brand is looking to revive a slow market, as shown by latest design
Coming in the same color blocking as the shattered backboard, black toes, and Not for Resale (almost), The Air Jordan one is looking to capture its lost glory. The people in New York love Air Jordans, and the brand wants to expand its reach to its neighbors as well.
The green plays well with the black accents and the white vamp and side layers, overall giving it a clean look. The Pine Green Air Jordans and the Celtics colorways were big hits, and they want to capture the same hype again.

Michael Jordan now only lives for the “Green” – He’s become everything he stood against
A man who once stood for his principles, Michael Jordan is now everything he was against. Jordan was and still is a fierce competitor. But as an athlete, he should have been against something that depreciates his capacity of breathing, but he smokes cigars. He needs to maintain his integrity but indulges in betting and gambling.
He may look like he could still do it, but the bloodshot eyes and the slur say otherwise. Jordan has fallen a long way, but one can forgive him – he’s closing 60.
Money changes people, and for MJ, it did. Jesus never cared for the coin, but Black Jesus does care for the Green.
