“He’s Like Gregg Popovich”: Shaquille O’Neal Reveals Why Tom Brady Is ‘The Greatest’ Of All Time
Tom Brady is one of the finest athletes of time. When he first burst onto the scene in the year 2000, absolutely no one would have thought that the seemingly harmless backup quarterback will go on to become the finest QB in the history of the sport.
Tom didn’t get a fancy contract to start with, in fact, San Francisco 49ers, the team for which he wanted to play in the NFL, showed zero interest in roping him in.
It was the New England Patriots who roped him in and once Tom got his chance to showcase his talent on the highest level, he just kept climbing up the ladder.
In his almost two decade long stint with the New England Patriots, Brady ended up winning as many as 6 Super Bowl titles. However, when he left the Patriots to join the Bucs, many fans and experts had opined that he will just fall off a cliff.
Shaquille O’Neal Is a Massive Fan Of Tom Brady’s Temperament
Age wasn’t on his side, everyone knew that developing great chemistry with new team members after staying with some other franchise for 20 years is not going to be an easy task to accomplish.
However, defying all expectations, Tom ended up winning another Super Bowl title in his opening season for the Bucs. Every time he steps on the field, we all know that some record is going to get shattered.
He is 45 years old and still has the hunger and the passion of an 18-year-old which is enough to prove why he is called the GOAT. However, as per NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal, there is a completely different reason because of which Brady is actually worthy of being called the greatest ever.
A while ago, during an interview, Shaq had claimed that it doesn’t matter if Brady is leading by 28 points or is trailing by 28 points, his expressions never suggests that he is under pressure.
“I was looking at Tom, looking at his face, it reminds me of Gregg Popovich or Phil Jackson, they never panic. Coach Belichick is that way either. Down 28 points, whatever up 28 points, same face, never panics,” Shaq claimed, adding that this is why Tom deserves to be called the greatest.
