“Antonio Brown Survives”: Controversial WR’s Standoff With Police “Finally Over” After Accuser Drops Battery Charges
Infamous is probably an understatement when it comes to describing Antonio Brown. The former Tampa Bay Buccaneers receiver grabs headlines in the most controversial way possible. Only a few weeks ago, an arrest warrant was issued in his name after his former fiance accused him of domestic violence, but police were unable to enter his house and arrest him. 3 weeks later, it seems the law has lost its will.
The standoff comes after an argument between Brown and the mother of his children escalated, and Brown proceeds to throw a shoe at her head. He then threw all her belongings out on the street and served her with an informal eviction notice. Fortunately, no one was injured. Brown reportedly holed up in his residence, armed with the knowledge that an arrest warrant is not enough for officers to enter his house.
He refused to even come to the door and talk with officers. The Tampa police filed a risk protection order in order to gain access to the house, but a judge denied the request. Finally, three weeks later, the Florida State Attorney dropped the misdemeanor charges against him and withdrew the arrest warrant.

Antonio Brown adds another feather to his cap with domestic abuse charges
Antonio Brown is a strange character, to say the least. Earlier this year, he was kicked off the Buccaneers team after he stormed off the field mid-game, shirtless. Since then, he’s been involved in a number of controversies, including charges of theft. He isn’t shying away from taking personal shots, either.
Earlier this year, when his former teammate and longtime friend Tom Brady was undergoing relationship problems, Brown trolled him with various insensitive and inappropriate posts. This was towards a man who literally gave him a second chance at football. And who he won a Super Bowl with.
Brown grabbed headlines once again after a video surfaced showing him exposing himself to and harassing a guest in a pool at a Dubai hotel. His actions drew widespread criticism, and fans started questioning his mental stability. Soon after, reports flooded in that the Dubai police were charging him for stealing jewelry worth over $100,000.
Brown has expressed a desire to return to the NFL. Given his antics, his chances seem to be growing slimmer with each passing minute. Will any team want to sign what could potentially be a massive PR disaster? Or will someone become desperate enough to bury their dignity and sign him? He’s a skillful player, no doubt. The question is, is he worth the backlash and the potential storm of trouble he brings along?
