Why Is Aaron Donald Not Playing Tonight?: Rams Issue Injury Report
With just three games left, the Los Angeles Rams’ season is coming to a close. They are the defending Super Bowl champions. After losing to the Green Bay Packers on Monday night, the Rams will play the Denver Broncos next.
Among the Rams’ injured players is their superstar Aaron Donald. This season, he missed the first game of his career due to injury, and it seems the same issue will prevent him from playing at all in 2022.

The Rams did not practice on Wednesday due to the short week, so the participation numbers on the initial injury report are only an estimate. Despite this, Aaron Donald is still listed as a non-participant because he would have skipped practice once more.
Aaron Donald’s Injury Report
Sean McVay, the head coach, announced on Friday that Donald will not play against the Denver Broncos on Sunday. McVay’s straightforward response to the question of whether Donald would return this season was, “Probably not.”
The season of Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald is probably over. Donald has been sidelined since Week 11 with an ankle injury, so he will not play against the Broncos on Sunday. It appears that he won’t be available for the team’s final two games as well.

At this point in the defending Super Bowl champions’ losing season, there is little reason to play Donald. The injuries to Matthew Stafford, Cooper Kupp, and Donald in 2022 proved to be the death knell for Los Angeles. Week 12 saw Donald miss the first game of his Hall of Fame career due to a high ankle sprain.
This season, Donald has recorded 49 tackles, five sacks, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. The Rams will be counting on Donald and many of their other seasoned stars to bounce back when they play again in 2023.
The Rams will play the Chargers at SoFi Stadium in Week 17 as the “road” team, and they will finish the season in Seattle in Week 18. At 4-10 and officially out of the playoff race, the Rams have no choice but to finish the season, which would be better served as a fact-finding mission than as another 12 quarters of work for their established stars.
