Was Colin Kaepernick Adopted?

Colin Kaepernick is one of the most talked about figures in the world of the NFL. The talented quarterback started his stint in the league with the San Francisco 49ers in 2011 and was active in the competition till 2016.

During his stint, Kaepernick earned a lot of praise for his astounding gameplay and even ended up breaking a few records. He had the most rushing yards for a quarterback in a single game(181) and in a postseason (264).

Everything was going on well for Colin, until he decided to kneel during a preseason game when the American national anthem was playing. Colin did this to register his protest against the growing violence against the people of color in the States.

However, his actions ended up attracting a lot of flak online which sparked a series of events which ultimately ended Colin’s career. Although he tried making a comeback this year, no team showed interest in roping him in.

Despite all this, Colin has been able to attract a lot of attention through his constant media interactions and contributions to the entertainment world. His famous Netflix documentary on NFL is still fresh in the minds of a lot of people.

Moreover, around 4 years ago, Kaepernick sat down for an interview with VH1 in which he talked in detail about the struggles he went through as a black child in a white family.

Actually, Colin was given away with a heavy heart to the Kaepernicks by his biological mother. She was only 19 years old when Colin was born and in order to ensure that her son gets the right kind of upbringing, she took the tough call when her son was just five weeks old.

In the interview with VH1, Colin had stated when he was young, he had a family that he loved but it was obvious that he looked nothing like anyone in the house which he thought was a little different, but wasn’t really aware of what it actually meant.

Colin added that with time, he understood what it really meant and made peace with it. He added that in the whole “growing up” process, he evolved a lot and so did his family.

The former 49ers QB went on to state that he wouldn’t do all this with anyone else if he gets a chance to grow up again as he was showered with a lot of affection by his family.
