“I Don’t Like None Of That Sh*t”: Lions Safety DeShon Elliott Blasts Aaron Rodgers For Not Respecting Him

There is no love lost between the Green Bay Packers and the Detroit Lions, and the trash-talking has already started in advance of their weekend matchup. As they get ready to square off with a potential playoff berth on the line, there is animosity between the Packers and the Lions. DeShon Elliott’s remarks about Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers did nothing more than fan the flames.

For the majority of the Aaron Rodgers era, the Green Bay Packers have been the NFC North’s top team. Since taking over as the team’s starting quarterback in 2008, the current NFL MVP has guided his squad to the playoffs 12 times with a (12-10) postseason record. There have been many disappointments, but in 2011, Rodgers led the Packers to a Super Bowl victory over the Steelers.

The Packers have risen, while the Lions have spent decades trying desperately to even come close to what their rivals have achieved. The NFL’s longest postseason winless streak is held by Detroit, which hasn’t made the playoffs since 2016. This streak began on January 5, 1992.

DeShon Elliott doesn’t feel Aaron Rodgers respect the Lions

DeShon Elliott, a Lions safety, decided to criticize Aaron Rodgers in front of the media on Friday for what he sees as the quarterback’s egregious disrespect for the team. He claimed that Rodgers had made comments about his Lions that bothered him and the team.

DeShon, after practice on Friday said, “This means a lot because I feel like they don’t respect us. That team doesn’t respect us, and neither does (Aaron Rodgers). Despite what the record may indicate, we shouldn’t be the underdog. Because of the respect factor, I believe we will play smash mouth football and fight our asses off when we get there.”

“Like, somehow or another, we’re all here. Yes, he is a Hall of Famer, but I can’t respect the way he has spoken about my teammates this entire season or the way that team sees us. We will therefore venture outside and make a demonstration,” DeShon added.

Just this week, Elliott is the third Lions player to leap all over Rodgers. The argument appears to have started during their first meeting, which Detroit won 15-9 at Ford Field after frustrating the quarterback. That day, Rodgers was intercepted three times.

At that time, the Lions had a league-worst record of 1-6. They are currently 8-8 and have only suffered two losses since that Packers game. Green Bay (8-8) has also joined the conversation after winning four straight games.
