“I Am Team Nate Diaz”: Former UFC Champion on Potential Jake Paul vs. Nate Diaz Boxing Match
Jake Paul, the YouTuber turned professional boxer has been a subject of news for a while after he announced his transition to MMA. ‘The Problem Child’ has reportedly signed a deal with leading MMA promotion PFL.
It is interesting to note that, Paul has had a successful run in his professional boxing career. He is currently 6-0 and has won over some notable names from the combat world.
Now he is willing to do the same in MMA. Paul is focused on some big names for his MMA debut and among them is UFC legend Nate Diaz. However, a former UFC champion believes Diaz wouldn’t be an easy job for Paul in both boxing and MMA.
Ex-UFC star believes Nate Diaz will beat Jake Paul at MMA and boxing
It is interesting to note that ‘The Problem Child’ has been targeting a fight with Stockton’s second child for a long time. Previously, he called out Diaz for a boxing match after his departure from UFC.
Now, the Ohio native wants to fight the Stockton slugger inside the cage. But former lightweight champion Anthony Pettis believes Diaz would be 2-0 against Paul. “I am team Diaz on that bro. Especially MMA… Diaz can box too. I fought him. Diaz can box too,” Pettis said in an interview with No Cappin.

Pettis is a veteran of the sport. He lost to Diaz in a UFC fight in 2019. Thus, he knows Diaz’s caliber as a fighter. While Paul offered a fight to Diaz, Pettis also chimed in and stated that he would like to fight the YouTuber if the Stockton star isn’t ready.
Diaz hasn’t answered Paul’s offer
The Stockton slugger departed from UFC after winning his last fight against Tony Ferguson last year. Ever since then, he has been hinting at a move to boxing and also WWE. However, Diaz has officially stated his next move.
Previously, the former UFC fighter stated that he would like to enter the boxing ring. However, he hasn’t responded to any of Paul’s callouts. Now that ‘The Problem Child’ has offered him both a boxing and an MMA match, Diaz might consider taking it.
Do you think this might be the best option for Diaz? Do you guys agree with Pettis’s statements?
