Step 1 – Catching Fish
We need food to attract and tame those cats, don’t we? That is why we need to find fish like salmon and cod. You can easily find these fish by manually jumping into the river and catching them. You can use a fishing rod as well. Catch 10 or 15 fish, so it is easy to tame multiple cats.
Step 2 – Finding Cats
You can find cats in any Minecraft village as long as it has more than 5 beds. You can also find them in Swamp Huts. Their spawn rate is also high, so you do not need to worry about missing cats; they spawn every 5 minutes in real-time. There are eleven species of cats, including tubby, Persian, ragdoll and tuxedo.
Step 3 – Taming a Cat in Minecraft
The final step is to approach the cat when you find it. Equip your fish, approach it slowly and right-click on the cat with the fish. Do this three or four times or until hearts appear around it. This will tame the cat, and once you do, there are many uses for this cute creature.
Uses of Cats
Cats can bring you many gifts. Some of the gifts are raw chicken, rabbit’s foot, feathers and string. In addition, mobs like creepers and phantoms are afraid of cats so they can be a bodyguard for you. They will follow you around, climb on top of chests and boxes and more. They will also sit in one place if you order them to.
