“Scars, Adversity, That’s Who I Am”: After Humiliating Loss Against 49ers, Dak Prescott’s Emotional Interview With Erin Andrews is Going Viral
Dak Prescott is one of the most talked about quarterbacks in the competition. The Cowboys’ superstar has shown glimpses of his class every now and then but hasn’t been consistent enough to be counted in the same league as Joe Burrow, Josh Allen or Patrick Mahomes.
Much like the last season, Prescott had a hot and cold year but his team was still able to make the playoffs. However, Cowboys’ poor records in the playoffs came back to haunt them yet again this year after registering a thumping win against Brady’s Buccaneers in the wildcard round.
Dak’s unit took on the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional Round game and after equalizing by the end of the third quarter, they failed to cross the line in the final moments as Purdy’s men were just too tough to handle for the team from Dallas.
Dak Prescott had a hard time dealing with the loss against 49ers last season
Renowned NFL analyst Shannon Sharpe had predicted that Prescott would not be able to repeat his wildcard heroics against the 49ers and it would be fair to say that he was absolutely right.
In a game dominated by the defenses, Dak scored 1 TD and had two interceptions to his name for 206 yards. After the contest ended, Dak’s interview with FOX Sports’ Erin Andrews for which he sat down prior to the Sunday’s game, started getting a lot of attention.
Talking about the last season’s playoff loss against 49ers, Dak told Erin that he didn’t leave his house for weeks after that game. “I knew how good of a team we had last year, and how close we were just to winning that game,” he had said.
“Your scars, your adversity that’s who I am I take all those with me they make me a better person and a better football player,” Prescott had added. And now, Dak has again failed to get over the line against the same team in the playoffs.
The Cowboys sure had all the arsenal this time around as well to annihilate any opposition, however, yet again, they have choked under pressure. It will be interesting to see if Dak goes incognito this year as well after divisional round defeat.
