WATCH: Jayson Tatum and Boston Celtics Get Boo’d in TD Garden After Blowing 28-Point Lead to the Brooklyn Nets

The Boston Celtics have hit a rough patch. The NBA’s former top team went 6-3 in their nine games since Brown got injured. While 6-3 is not a bad record by any means, but if you have a team like Milwaukee Bucks chasing you with a 16-win streak, yes, it’s bad. Tonight, Jayson Tatum and co. surprised us all in the game against the Nets.

Taking on the Brooklyn Nets, many assumed it would be an easy win for Tatum and Brown. They sure started the game like that as well. Building an early 2nd quarter 51-23 lead, the Celtics looked like they could rest easy.

However, Mikal Bridges had something to say about the same. He scored 38 points and led the Nets on a 49-19 run.

In the end, the Celtics lost the game 105-115 on their home floor.

Jayson Tatum and co. get booed at home

The Boston Celtics, heading into the game tonight, had the 4th best home record in the NBA at 25-6. Defending your home court is a matter of pride for every team, and the Boston fans expect no less.

Seeing the team’s blasphemous performance since the late 2nd quarter had the home crowd mad. After the game ended, the Celtics fans let it be known and booed their MVP candidate Jayson Tatum and the rest of the team.

To lose a game like that hurts, but then to also get booed by your own fans? That hurts way more. The Knicks better watch out on Sunday. Jayson Tatum and the Celtics will be out for blood.

Tatum suffered massive loss on his birthday

The night started really well for Tatum. He debuted a new colorway of his signature sneakers.

The home crowd sang happy birthday for the Eastern Conference Finals MVP as he took to the court.

However, he couldn’t get any buckets on his 25th birthday. Tatum ended the night with 22 points, 13 rebounds, five assists, two steals, and a block. However, the glaring red light on his box score is the 0-8 shooting from the deep. No one expects that from an MVP candidate like Tatum, especially on his birthday.
