HoFer Peyton Manning Is Confident That His Protégé Hendon Hooker Will Return in Time to Play This Season

With the NFL Draft right around the corner, all everyone can talk about is who will be the first few picks this year. The conversation has been revolving mostly around players such as Bryce Young, C.J. Stroud, and Anthony Richardson. Somehow, everyone has forgotten that these are not the only QBs on offer. Peyton Manning certainly hasn’t. For he will be hoping his protege, Hendon Hooker, makes it in this year.

Hendon Hooker plays for the Tenessee Volunteers, and at 25 years old, is rather aged when compared to other draft prospects. However, there are many who think Hooker could be a starting QB. Given that he has been working under the tutelage of a 2x Super Bowl winner, it will only be surprising if he doesn’t get picked this year.

Manning says Hendon Hooker could’ve won the Heisman Trophy bar injury

Talking on ‘On the Clock’, Peyton Manning describes his feelings when he saw Hooker go down with an ACL injury. “That was hard to
watch. I think (he) then probably does go on to win the Heisman Trophy, if not for that injury,” he says. Manning adds that given how quickly and efficiently ACL injuries can be fixed these days, he is expecting Hooker to be back very soon.

Hooker and the Mannings have apparently been in constant contact ever since He moved to Tennessee. It seems Peyton and Eli have been helping Hooker bring the Volunteers back on top of the pecking order. It will be very interesting to see how he fares in the NFL. It’ll definitely be a fairytale for Hooker if he ends up in Indianapolis. Thoughts on Peyton already trying to make this happen?

Hooker may not be a top 4 prospect, but it seems like he could shine

While everyone is busy talking about Young and the rest of the top drafts, Hendon Hooker is silently making moves. In fact, there are a few analysts who believe drafting Hooker could end up being a wise choice, especially if that team is the Colts. Draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah says Hooker could be one to watch out for at this year’s draft.

Two years ago, when the Philadelphia Eagles drafted Jalen Hurts, it was probably their best decision ever. Hoooker hopes that he can make another team feel exactly that way. The only way to do that is if he shows he is capable of taking a team to the Super Bowl. Fortunately for him, he will have the experience he needs to back him up.
