“Go to Bed”: Kevin Hart Once Mocked Jimmy Butler Only to be Hustled out of $10,000

Jimmy Butler is definitely a man in form at the moment. He just can’t miss and is sinking shots like they’re nothing. But, four years ago, comedian Kevin Hart doubted his ability. He challenged him to a shooting contest, and not only did he lose $10,000, but he was also introduced to Jimmy Buckets.

In 2019, Butler and Hart were holidaying in Paris. The two were having the time of their lives, and one fine night decided to go out for dinner. It was here, that it seems Kevin had one too many drinks.

Halfway through the meal, PSG superstar Neymar Jr. as his witness, Hart decided to trash talk Butler. This of course didn’t sit well with the then-76ers star, who decided to make a wager of it. They would have a shooting contest, with Kevin shooting with his right hand, and Jimmy with his left. Loser sends $10,000 to the charity of the winner’s choice.

Jimmy Butler is quite the socialite. When he’s not hooping for the Miami Heat, he’s usually at the gym or hanging out with his friends. In 2019, during the off-season, Jimmy decided to take a break in Paris, France.

While there, he met up with die-hard Sixers fan, and comedian, Kevin Hart. The two hung out and even had dinner together. But, a lovely meal wasn’t enough for Hart. He was feeling good about himself and decided to trash-talk Jimmy Buckets. Hart confidently claimed he could outshoot Butler, which prompted the latter to make a bet.

He bet Hart that he could win a shooting contest against him with just his left hand. The comedian, not willing to lose face, and being a competitor obviously accepted. But, what followed was a gut-wrenching loss the next day, which ended with him having to donate $10,000 to the charity of Jimmy’s choice. The footage of which was shared on Butler’s YouTube channel.

“What that means when I show up at 6:30. Shoot my six jump shots, bust his a** and go to bed.”

Kevin Hart certainly learned his lesson that day. But, he had his reasons for being overconfident. After all, he defeated Draymond Green in a three-point contest three years earlier.

Jimmy Butler isn’t the first person to be challenged by Kevin Hart. Back in 2016, the comedian took on Draymond Green in a thrilling three-point shooting contest that went down to the wire. Green went first and managed to accumulate a total of 12 points. But, that wasn’t enough, as Hart ended his rally strong, edging out Draymond.

It was an astonishing victory for Hart. Although, he wasn’t properly compensated, seeing as Green left with a trophy and he got a participation ribbon. Nevertheless, this victory was probably what fuelled him into making that bet.
