NBA Script Leaked: Checking Validity of Viral ‘NBA Communications’ Post on Social Media Claiming a ‘Lakers vs Celtics Finals’

The NBA is a highly competitive league, with 30 teams fighting each year to pick up the Larry O’Brien trophy in the end. This year, we have seen a very eventful Playoff, and we’re down to four teams now: Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers, Denver Nuggets, and Miami Heat. As the stars will have it, 2023 might end up giving us a Lakers vs Celtics Finals. The conspiracy theorists on Twitter sure believe that the NBA Script is written as such.

Ever since this graphic was put up, people were questioning whether there was a script the league was following. A recent post going viral on Twitter just ended up backing this claim.

In a few hours, this post has made it to almost every NBA fan’s Twitter home page, which has generated a ton of reactions from fans all across. This post talks about Jimmy Butler getting 36 in Game 1 against the Celtics. Butler had 35.

The post claims that the Lakers will beat the Nuggets in 6 Games. They also claim that the Celtics will beat the Heat in 7 Games. This indicates there will be a Lakers vs Celtics Finals, which will go to Game 7. In the said Game 7, LeBron James will score 53 points, beating Stephen Curry‘s 50-point tally and Jayson Tatum‘s 51 points.

Is the leaked script legitimate?

From the first looks, there are quite a few details that are off. The document reads, loading the Championship trophy into the Crypto.Com arena locker room before Game 7. Even if a Lakers-Celtics Finals happens, Game 7 will be at the TD Garden because of Boston’s better regular season record.

Secondly, if the Lakers are to beat the Nuggets in Game 6, the date won’t be 27th May. Game 6 of the series is scheduled to be on May 26th. The document is off to a rocky start. After going through it a few times, there are a lot more smaller errors that the NBA would never make.

After thorough checking, I can confidently tell you that the leaked NBA Script is fake. While a Celtics-Lakers Finals would be something to look forward to, all four remaining teams are capable of putting a worthy show on the biggest stage.
