2 Days Before the NBA Draft, LeBron James’ ‘Bestie’ Drake Mocks 7ft 5″ Victor Wembanyama’s Abnormally Huge Shoe Size

The NBA Draft is merely two sleeps away. The hype around the 7ft 4″ projected #1 pick Victor Wembanyama is real. I mean, why else would be asked to come and throw the first pitch at a Yankees game? Wemby isn’t even in the NBA yet, and JJ Redick already has a podcast episode out with him. The hype around the Frenchman is real, with him being called the best draft prospect of all time, overshadowing a certain 6ft 9″ Lakers superstar we know. On top of all of that, his own close friend, Drake, uploaded stories about Wemby, mocking him like they have an inside joke.

As mentioned, Wemby was at the Yankees stadium today to throw the Ceremonial First Pitch. That didn’t go as he would’ve expected, as you can see here.

We could see him rocking some Nike Nocta shoes, which is Drake’s line with the brand.

Drake calls out Victor Wembanyama over huge shoe size

Thursday night is probably the biggest night of 19-year-old Victor Wembanyama’s life. It is when he’d officially become a part of the NBA. Predicted to be the #1 pick, we’re most likely going to see him in a Spurs jersey soon.

However, before that, I guess he has a few public appearances lined up. When he arrived at the Yankees stadium, Wemby was rocking a pair of Nike Nocta Glide.

Being a Nike athlete, we’re not surprised by the company of the shoes he wore. Seeing the Nocta shoes on his feet, we knew Drake had a hand there. We weren’t wrong, as shortly after the First Pitch, Drake uploaded a story joking about the ‘Size 240’ shoe Wemby wore.

From that joke, we can figure out that Wemby has extremely huge feet, which won’t come as a surprise to be honest. Standing at 7ft 1″, Shaq wears Size 22 shoes, so at 7ft 4″, Wemby’s Size 24 shouldn’t surprise us. From Drake’s story, it seems like the two have an inside joke about it.

Victor Wembanyama could get a ‘blank check’ from Nike

As of now, Victor Wembanyama is signed on a multi-year Nike deal. However, once that expires, Sonny Vaccaro, the man responsible for getting Michael Jordan to Nike, claims that Frenchman is worth a ‘blank check’.

These are big words coming from someone who was there to witness Michael Jordan and LeBron James both before they made it to the NBA. While Phil Knight and Sonny Vaccaro are not on speaking terms, Knight might make his team pay attention to what Sonny is saying and respond accordingly.
