8 Years Before the Russell Jibe, Rapper Future Lashed Out at Ex-Fiancée Ciara for Bringing Russell Wilson Close to Their Son
Russell Wilson’s current wife, Ciara, has once again become the subject of controversy due to her former partner, rapper Future. In his latest song titled “Turn Yo Clic Up,” Future appears to take a shot at the Denver Broncos’ star quarterback.
Indeed, Future’s recent diss track is not the first time he has expressed his discontent towards Russell Wilson. Back in 2015, during an interview with The Breakfast Club, the rapper criticized his ex-fiancée, Ciara, for introducing Wilson to their son, Future Zahir.
Future’s Ongoing Beef: Diss Track and Criticism Towards Ciara and Russell Wilson
In his latest song “Turn Yo Clic Up,” rapper Future has once again stirred controversy as he appears to diss Russell Wilson, the current husband of his ex-fiancée, Ciara. The song, released in collaboration with Quavo, features a notable line where Future expresses his apparent disdain for Wilson, stating, “I got it out the field, f–k Russell.”
This is not the first time Future has taken a jab at Wilson. Eight years ago, during an interview with The Breakfast Club, the rapper voiced his displeasure over Ciara bringing Wilson into their son Future Zahir’s life. He criticized Ciara’s decision, exclaiming,
“You don’t bring a man around your son. You’ve known this man for a few months and you’re bringing him around your kid? Who does that?”
During a 2019 interview with Beats 1 Radio, Future continued to express his opinion on his ex’s new family, particularly Russell Wilson. He accused Wilson of not being a man and claimed that he does whatever Ciara tells him to do. Future stated,
“He’s not being a man in that position. You’re not telling her, ‘Bro, chill out with that on the internet. Don’t even talk to him. I’m your husband.” He further emphasized, “You better not even bring Future’s name up! If that was me, she couldn’t even bring his name up.”
The ongoing beef between Future and Wilson continues to generate attention, with Future using his music to express his grievances. Despite the passage of time, his recent diss track reaffirms the lingering animosity between the two. Meanwhile, Ciara and Wilson have chosen to focus on their own happiness and remain unbothered by the ongoing tensions.

Wilson actively engages in activities with Zahir, creating lasting memories and fostering their bond. From engaging in football drills to spending time in the gym, Wilson’s dedication to teaching and nurturing Zahir’s skills is so loving.
In one of his Twitter posts, Wilson shared a video of their training session, showcasing their teamwork and Zahir’s remarkable one-handed catches. Wilson’s caption, “One Handed, Too Easy!” speaks volumes about his admiration for Zahir’s abilities and his pride in their shared accomplishments.

Ciara also shared her thoughts on the relationship between Russell Wilson and Zahir, highlighting the positive dynamics and love they share. She said, “He’s all about the details. He’s all about the technique. He’s all about coming back with love, and so it’s beautiful.” Russell Wilson has expressed his love and appreciation for his stepson Zahir on many platforms. He once said,
“When I got to meet Future, he was young, and the reality was that for me, it was a blessing and an opportunity to really hopefully be there for him every day and try to care for him in a way that was important for me.”
Wilson’s words reflect his genuine love and dedication towards Zahir, emphasizing the importance of creating a strong bond and providing support to his stepson.
