Ocon visited Williams facility on Monday, asked to pay up $20 million
Esteban Ocon’s future has been the talk of the town in Sochi in the last two days, as the young Force India driver is still without a seat for the 2019 campaign, despite having put up impressive performances this year.
With the Renault move not going through, as Ricciardo was drafted in, Ocon had yesterday accepted that Williams could be his only option.
Now, in his interview to Canal+ (French TV), Ocon revealed that he had indeed visited the Williams facility on Monday. He managed to fit into the seat(as opposed to what happened at McLaren earlier).

Ocon also indulged in a little simulation work before meeting with Frank Williams.
The meeting with the Williams authorities went smoothly, until the money aspect came through.
Williams has asked Ocon to cough up a sum of $20 million in order to land the seat for 2019.
Mercedes are presently not ready to give Williams that sum of money to give Ocon the seat.
Mercedes are presently working to sell both Russell and Ocon to Williams, but as of now no concrete advances have been made.
“Canal+ (French TV) talk with Esteban Ocon yesterday and he confirmed that he visited a team since Singapore without saying wich one. It was actually Williams, he did fit inside the car (and it was good, unlike in the McLaren earlier this year), did some sim work, and met with Franck Williams.
“Everything went well but there is still a major problem : money. He needs 20 millions to get the seat, and Mercedes won’t give Williams that much, but they’re still working on it. Mercedes would also like to put George Russel in the second Williams and are actually trying to “sell” both of them as a package to Williams.” posted by u/Rinhoc.
Do you think Mercedes will pay that kind of money for Ocon’s seat at Williams.
