RCB vs DC Man of the Match: Who was awarded Man of the Match in RCB vs DC?
RCB vs DC Man of the Match: Delhi Capitals fast bowler was declared the Man of the Match for his inspiring bowling spell.
During the 20th match of the ongoing 12th season of the Indian Premier League between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals at Bengaluru, Delhi Capitals defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 4 wickets.
While it was Capitals’ third victory in six matches in IPL 2019, the loss has come as Royal Challengers’ sixth on the trot. They have now joined hands with Delhi Capitals (earlier Delhi Daredevils) in the list of most consecutive losses at the start of IPL season.
Chasing a 150-run target, DC chased the total on the back of captain Shreyas Iyer’s 11th IPL half-century. Coming in to bat at No. 3 in the first over itself, Iyer ended up scoring 67 (50) with the help of eight fours and two sixes.
While Capitals will be relished because of registering an away victory, they would also be concerned about their middle-order’s form especially during chasing an innings.
RCB vs DC Man of the Match
After Iyer won the toss and put RCB in to bat, the hosts scored a below par 149/8 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Captain Virat Kohli top-scored for his team after getting out for 41 (33) with the help of one four and two sixes.
With bowling figures of 4-0-21-4, Kagiso Rabada was the pick of the bowlers for Delhi Capitals. The 23-year old fast bowler was declared the Man of the Match for his exceptional spell which saw him dismissing AB de Villiers (17), Virat Kohli (41), Akshdeep Nath (19) and Pawan Negi (0).
Speaking during the post-match presentation ceremony, Rabada highlighted his lines working for him today. “It was a weird tournament for us as a team. Today my lines worked for me, and I’m glad. On a daily basis, you try to execute you simple skills. And not all the time does it work perfectly, but you should try to get it in a decent area,” Rabada was quoted as saying.
Been a consistent performer for DC in IPL 2019, Rabade denied seeing himself as the leader of the bowling attack at Delhi Capitals. “To be honest, I don’t see myself as a leader in the bowling group. But if someone needs advice or needs my help, I’m always there. As a player, I believe I have a responsibility at the top and at the death,” Rabada added.
