AEW News: Dean Malenko Signed as Senior Producer and Coach

AEW News: Dean Malenko Signed as Senior Producer and Coach. AEW announces a Multi-Year with the world-renowned Coach, Producer and Wrestler.

All Elite Wrestling have announced that they have signed a multi-year deal with former WWE and WCW wrestler Dean Malenko.

Welcoming the new addition to the fledgling company, Executive Vice President Cody Rhodes said:

“Dean Malenko has been a massive force behind some of today’s biggest wrestling stars, he’s never stopped being a major talent who was part of the ECW revolution as well as a fixture in the cruiserweight movement on Nitro. He’s kept an open mind to our world from Lucha Libre to Japanese pro-wrestling. He’s the perfect fit for our sports- centric mentality, and his experience will be invaluable for our team. Welcome Coach!”

The company will immediately employ Malenko’s services. He will join them this weekend for their debut Pay Per View “DOUBLE OR NOTHING”.

This is what Malenko said of his appointment:

“It’s not often you get an opportunity late in your career to be a part of building something from the ground floor. The freedom to be able to contribute uninhibited will only lend itself to foster creativity and produce an outstanding product. I’m excited about what the future holds for AEW, and I can’t wait to be a part of the journey.”

Malenko is best known for his time with Extreme Championship Wrestling, New Japan Pro Wrestling, World Championship Wrestling, and the World Wrestling Federation. Pro Wrestling Illustrated named Malenko the #1 wrestler in the world in 1997, and he was inducted into the Hardcore Hall of Fame in 2015.

Double Or Nothing will emanate from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday May 25. The Main Show will begin at 8 pm ET.; The Pre-show dubbed “The Buy In” will begin at 7 p.m.

Archie is a WWE and UFC Editor/Author at the SportsRush. Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
