Antoine Griezmann: Barcelona agree to land Atletico Madrid to Nou Camp for a massive fee

Antoine Griezmann: Barcelona affirms to trigger Antoine Griezmann’s colossal release clause to land him at Nou Camp this summer.

Antoine Griezmann’s transfer saga is probably coming to an end, originated after the French International released a video to announce his departure from Atletico Madrid this summer.

The video fueled his transfer speculations, while Barcelona were reportedly considered favourites to hire the services of Griezmann.

However, later it was reported that certain players in Barcelona did not want the French International to join the club as they were offended by his last year’s conduct, where he openly refused the offer from Barcelona with a documentary.

Although, in the recent advancements, according to a report by Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are prepared to trigger the release clause of £106 million for Griezmann and will announce his arrival on July 1.

Even though, Barcelona players were against his association with the club, but in an interaction with Ivan Rakitic, the Croatian International mentioned that he would be delighted to play alongside Griezmann.

“Aside from the fact that last year he pushed me away from my dream of winning the World Cup, I really like him.” said Rakitic

“He’s a top level player, one of the best in the world. He’s won almost everything and can add to any team.” he further said.

The inclusion of Griezmann will highly bolster the Blaugranas’ attacking department, as Philippe Coutinho has been underwhelming and Luiz Suarez is past his peak years. Additionally, Griezmann’s ability to play at any position upfront will make him a viable prospect.

It seems that the long transfer saga is nearing towards its end, if the reports come out to be true. However, the final announcements are still awaited.
